Lately the camera trap for the feeder has been picking up a lot of juveniles. The above is (I think) a juvenile brown thrasher alongside a grackle, and a juvenile male cardinal (as befitting for a kid, before becoming an adult, it goes through a more motley feathered phase.)
May was an extremely dry period (almost no rain at all), which happens every now and then are here. We are starting to get into thunderstorm season here, although all the storms have missed our area so far. We definitely can use the rains and cooldowns the storms provide, so hopefully some nice weather arrives soon to feed some thirsty plants.
